Easy to make sugar syrup with just two ingredients and two steps, then use it for a variety of cocktails. Store in the fridge, for a month, for future Summer party drinks.
If you can turn on a stove and boil water, you can make simple sugar syrup. The basic sweetening ingredient of many cocktails , such as mojitos and whiskey sour, consists, simply, of one part granulated white sugar and one part water.
1/2 cup white granulated sugar
1/2 cup water
Put the white sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat.
Stir liquid until sugar is dissolved.
Let it cool, then pour into a glass jar and seal tightly with a lid.
Simple syrup will keep, if refrigerated, for about one month.
